Gunnar's moves

So these are not the best videos of Gunnar moving. When he is really going after something he looks like a worm. He pulls his legs up under himself and then flops forward. I will keep trying to catch it but he rarely reperforms when I drag him away from that which he went after initially.

Tucker is 5!!

Tucker is 5! I can hardly believe it. He is such an awesome young boy. He loves to play and is a great helper. For his birthday he received an other Book of Mormon Heros book (which we have read multiple times over), slippers (which he wears everywhere, i'll be impressed if they last him more than a couple of months), and legos (which he constantly is playing with).

Tucker really wanted to have Hiro the train for his birthday cake. After watching a video on making train cakes I decided to cut the two loaf pan cakes in thirds, that way if I messed up on Hiro I had some back up pieces. Well cutting Hiro out was a lot easier than I anticipated so I used the remaining 4 thirds to make Thomas, Rosie and two freight cars. Making the cakes was a little rough because I didn't get the cakes made the day before and so I was trying to make them with an additional baby (my friends). Then at 3:30 we got three more kids to watch (again my friends) and Bryant was wanting to clean up the kitchen to make all the pizzas. Thankfully Tucker does not require perfection and forgot that we had bought things to use as the wheels and make coal for the coal tenders. Then I realized I forgot the "d" in birthday as a result of keeping little hands out of the way while trying to write. It was a crazy time! :)

Here is everyone singing to Tucker. Tucker decided that it needed to be dark while we were singing and so he ran off to turn off all the lights the silly guy!

We were not planning to have a friend birthday this year but it just so happenned that Tucker's birthday was on a Wednesday, which is when we normally watch one of his friends anyway and then his other friend came over because his mom went to Hawaii and so we were watching him and his siblings too. It was super nice of his friends to bring him a present. He got this race car piggy bank that he got to paint and a new hot wheels car with a tractor trailer for it to ride on the back with

Happy Gunnar

Sledding Fun and Danger

So rock canyon park has the best hills for sledding. I figured with all of the practice that Tucker and Hunter had on the mound in front of our house they were ready for the awesomeness of Rock Canyon's hills. Well the hills are even a little big for me without practice. I'm glad Tucker and Hunter were braver this year and went again after falling so that they could have lots of fun. Brylee went with me first time down the hill, the result was not good and she was unhappy the rest of the time.

I blazed the trail for this hill so that it would go straight and not run into anything. Unfortunately, there is a change in direction at the bottom that sent Tucker flying.

After Tucker's short flight we moved back to our original location and started only half way up the hill to make it safer.

More Snow

Well we got even more snow towards the end of January. At least 5 inches one day and another 9 inches the next (I measured against my boot when shoveling the walk). Thankfully, a snow plow came down our circle and repiled it up! So the snow castle was no longer small but up to the basketball hoop :) This made Tucker and Hunter super happy!

The following day someone left their snow sled out at the pile so the boys got some sledding practice in.

While watching the boys, I decided to use all the wonderful snow to build our family as snowmen. Hunter decided everyone needed foreheads, hence the rocks on three of the snowmen's heads

Igloos

Tucker loves doing crafts. I like them because they give us something to do but coming up with ideas constantly is really hard. I am grateful that the library has a craft night each week so Tucker can get something each week. Well with all the snow we talked about how it would be fun to build an igloo. I realize that would mean me building an igloo which didn't sound like much fun to me so instead I bough sugar cubes and I had them build their own snow houses out of the cubes. We used icing for frosting. Everyone had a great time!

Baby Food

So all of my kids (as most I believe) have found baby food strange but none of them have detested it like Gunnar does. He complains every time he gets a bite. I am lucky if I can get more than one bite in his mouth at a feeding. If I try too much he screams and cries. Hopefully, he will warm up to the idea with time...

January Highlights!

Gunnar is getting so good at sitting up. He doesn't really need the pillows but they are there is case he decides to lay down.

Gunnar is also really good at moving backwards! He constantly gets himself stuck under the couch!

Hunter loves his little brother. He loves playing with him and being near him

Tucker hates to miss a photo opportunity so he came along for the pics

This is the puzzle Tucker got for Christmas. He is really good at it.

Hunter built this snowman out of balls and was super excited about

Brylee needed her picture taken as well of course :)

Monsters for Breakfast anyone?

Hunter was looking at me until I actually took the picture. Gunnar loves his big brother!

Gunnar is getting really good at this toy. He loves to knock them down!

January brought haircuts for the boys. This is Tucker's mohawk before getting fully buzzed

Hunter chillaxing on the floor

Gunnar is getting really strong and tries his best to move forward. He gets up on this feet but....

He usually face plants it instead of moving forward

Tucker climbing on the Christmas boxes, waiting for a little sun to melt all the snow and ice blocking the storage units door

Brylee is beginning to get too old to take naps. There are days where she doesn't fall asleep at but at least she stays in her room and on her bed :)

Tucker and Hunter had lots of fun covering the house with snow balls. Thankfully it melted quick because it reminded me of spit wads on the wall.

Gunnar loves sitting at the table with everyone!

Gunnar loves his Daddy!
