San Diego Zoo

We had lots of fun at the San Diego Zoo on our second stop of vacation. The kids started complaining within an hour I think about being tired but we said we couldn't leave until we saw the Panda! Then it had its back turned towards us so it wasn't as exciting as planned. After that Tucker reminded me that we could leave and I then insisted that we had to see the Hippo to fulfill his homework requirements of that week to learn three interesting facts about Hippos. We ended up being at the Zoo from 10ish to 4:30! They didn't really complain that much when we were looking at things. Sadly, we ended up leaving before making it to the "kid's section" with the petting zoo and baby animals. Oh well, next time.

Koalas: The boys found the story of one of the koala's very interesting and were even telling a friend about it today. One of the baby's fell out of its mother's pouch when it was the size of a quarter or something. One of the workers at the zoo saw it on the ground, thankfully in a patch of sunlight that kept it warm and alive. They put the baby back in its mother's pouch and sewed it shut so that the baby would not fall out again. The baby has grown to adulthood and has a baby of her own today. It is a happy story :)

Us as a Koala Family

The children had lots of fun climbing on all the statues

We got to see an elephant getting its foot cleaned and clipped

Included in our passes was a ride on the skyfari. The kids enjoyed the rest and the ride

Thankfully Gunnar willingly took a nap in the stroller

The red panda was more exciting that the normal panda :P

Even Gunnar enjoyed getting out and seeing all the animals...

...and climbing on all the statues

Here is a bar...it must be climbed on too!

Everyone passed out on the way back from the zoo that Bryant and I stayed in the car after arriving at my Aunt's house so we would not have to wake them.

Eventually, Gunnar woke so we got everyone out of the car. Hunter found a nice place on the dining room floor to fall back to sleep...

...and Tucker chose a chair
