So I made this race track cake as a practice for Tucker's friend birthday party. It was going to be decorated with Lightning McQueen and some other race cars for his party, but we were not too impressed with our color scheme. Plus Tucker decided that since he had a race track for his family birthday he did not need it for his birthday party :)
Tucker's birthday was Cars themed. We brought box cars for all the kids to decorate. They also got to decorate a license plate with foam stickers and color pictures of Lightning and all his friends.
I tried to make "tires" so the kids could pretend to stack tires at Luigi's Casa Della Tires. It was better in theory than in execution. The kids had fun stacking but didn't really take turns to see who would knock it over with their tire.
It was a good thing we had the party at the church. It gave everyone the chance to run around in their cars. We attempted some car races and red light green light but ultimately ended up just running around after a few attempts at each game. The attention span of 3- and 4-years-old is not very long.
Bryant made pizza for everyone and spent the entire party in the Church kitchen slaving away. Everyone was super impressed with how it tasted.
Since Tucker did not want a race track cake I made Mater's junk yard instead. Of course our Mater went missing and was not found until two days after the party :P
Tucker had lots of fun with all his friends and we got great reviews from all the parents!
